Ten tips for persevering with the guitar

Tip 1: Place the guitar where you will fall over it. Never put it in its bag or case let alone in a cupboard.

Tip 2: Buy a guitar stand.

Tip 3: Buy a headstock tuner.

Tip 4: Buy a capo and keep it on the headstock.

Tip 5: Change strings every three months.

Tip 6: Use 9-42 guage strings when starting.

Tip 7: Build up your finger callouses slowly.

Tip 8: Play every day, even for one minute. Pick it up, strum it twice and put it down.

Tip 9: Watch lessons on YouTube.

Tip 10: Subscribe to a guitar tab site such as UG (Ultimate Guitar).
